Ray Templeton MHS Boosters Athletic Scholarship
The Ray Templeton Boosters Athletic Scholarship will be awarding 4 Student Athlete Scholarships this year.
2 ($1,000) Scholarships for Female Athletes
2 ($1,000) Scholarships for Male Athletes
The Montgomery Booster Club is proud to offer the Ray Templeton Athletic Scholarship to be awarded to two male and two female student athletes for the 2025/2026 school year. The purpose of these scholarships is to financially assist seniors going on to college, vocational, community college, trade or technical school as a full-time student in the Fall of 2026. The Montgomery Booster Club would like to recognize those students who best exemplify the role and participation of a Student-Athlete at Montgomery High School, in their community and their support for the Montgomery Booster Club.
Criteria for each applicant appears below, and scholarship winners will be notified by May 25th and be recognized on MHS Senior Awards Night. Interested students should complete the following form. The goal of the Booster Club is to provide an opportunity for Viking Student Athletes to receive financial assistance, not based solely on their athletic performance at Montgomery, but have made significant contributions to their team, their school and their community.
Applicant must meet the Minimum Requirements:
- Have attended Montgomery High School for a minimum of two years
- Carry a current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better
- Participated in athletics at Montgomery High School and in at least one sport during senior or junior year
- Accepted to, but not limited to a college, university, community college, vocational or trade school following graduation in Fall of 2026
- Completed “Coach Recommendation Form”
- Completed “Recommendation Form” from a Montgomery teacher, counselor, or administration.
- Completed “Scholarship Application” which includes a short essay
All forms (Coach Recommendation, Recommendation from teacher, counselor, or administration, and scholarship application) MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE by MONDAY April 27, 2026. As an option, completed paper printouts can be submitted to the Booster Mailbox in the MHS Office.

Ray “Mr. Montgomery” Templeton was most notably known for his generosity, community involvement and big heart. He contributed to Montgomery Athletics in so many ways; President of the Booster Club, Co-Founder of the Hall of Fame, creator of “The Viking Room, ”Announcer, Athlete and anything else one could think of related to enhancing the athletic experience for Montgomery students. In addition to his contributions to the school, he touched many so many people with his acts of kindness. We are honored to dedicate the Montgomery Athletic Booster Scholarship program in Mr. Montgomery’s name so that his legacy can continue to impact the community forever.
